I am married, with children and grandchildren. I live near Blackpool, Lancashire (UK).

I was a secondary school teacher for most of my adult life, though I started off as a farm labourer.For many years I was also an instructor in mountaineering and rock climbing on a part-time basis. I hold two degrees. - B.Ed (Hons) and M.Ed. My last teaching post was as Senior Curriculum Co-ordinator and English teacher in a school for pupils with Complex Learning Difficulties from which I took early retirement in July 2002. Over the 5 years, before retirement from teaching I felt that I needed to do less teaching and more Reiki. It did not happen this way, I just got more of both until it felt right to go.

As a Reiki teacher (Usui Shiko Ryoho) I see Reiki as being simple. I suppose that my teaching has always involved me in making simple what others make complex and my approach to Reiki has been no different. For me, Reiki is simply the placing or moving of my hands as 'guided' to and getting 'out of the way' so that the maximum 'energy' flows.

I find myself led, prodded and pushed to do certain things, which in hindsight are always pivotal in the development of my understanding and practice of Reiki and reality. It seems to me that my path has involved me in simplifying technique and dropping the crutches, that are a feature of western Reiki. These days all I seem to need is to place hands and relax. At the moment I would describe my form of Reiki as being largely guided as is my life.

As a full reiki teacher I deliver healing sessions as well as the full extent of training. I run these courses to small groups or individuals on request and by agrerement rather than at set times. At the moment I also serve, for the second time, on the UKRF (UK reiki Federation) management team.

In my practice I offer and use reiki, EFT and TAT^®. I also run classes and support others in personal spiritual growth which the use of reiki and EFT promotes.

As part of my ongoing support of Reiki practitioners I run a monthly Reiki share in my home, which can sometimes involve members of the general public being Reiki receivers. This takes place on the second Monday evening (7.00pm to 9.30pm ish) of each month. All practitioners are welcome if they contact me beforehand so that I can minimise any practical problems.
